Middle School Summer Challenge/High School Summer Kickstart

Before completing this application, please review all program details carefully including description, dates, eligibility, and fees.  You will need the following supplemental information to complete this application:

   -A copy of the student's most recent grade report (should include student's full name, school name, year in school, and all current grades and courses)
   -Signed parent liability waiver and release.
   -Contact information (name and email address) for a teacher to complete a recommendation. Please note, teacher recommendations are waived for returning participants.
   -If you are applying for scholarship assistance, a copy of your most recent 1040 tax return.

Once your teacher recommendation is received, we will send your admission decision within 7-10 business days.

School Information

Teacher Recommendation

Please provide contact information for a current year teacher who can speak to your academic abilities and success in a pre-college environment. The teacher should be an academic subject teacher (math, science, social studies, or English). A recommendation form will be emailed to the teacher upon submission of your application.

We offer a 10% discount to all admitted students of benefits-eligible WashU employees. In order to qualify for the discount, a student must be admitted and be a dependent child both by relation (birth, legally adopted, or step-child) and financially to a benefits-eligible WashU employee. Please indicate below your WashU Employee ID number to verify your eligibility for the discount.

Scholarship Assistance Request

The following information is required for us to process your request for scholarship assistance. 

We must receive a copy of your most recent 1040 tax return to process this application. The first two pages of a 1040 tax return are required, with the "Profit or Loss from Business" page required only if the taxpayer is self-employed. Do not include supplemental schedules, as they are not required for scholarship determination. The applicant must be listed as a dependent on the 1040 in order for us to accept the document. We do not need social security numbers, so these may be blacked out. See below for directions on uploading your tax return. 

If you are not required to file a tax return, you must send official documentation explaining your income. We reserve the right to request further documentation regarding family income, as needed. If you have questions regarding your income documentation, please contact us at precollege@wustl.edu.
