Continued Mentorship Program
Program Overview
Introducing our Continued Mentorship Program designed to provide academic year support and engagement for our summer program participants. This program allows you to stay connected with program staff and resources throughout the year, fostering both academic and personal growth. All activities are held virtually to allow flexibility for you to participate from anywhere. Activities include:
- Monthly social "meet ups" to build and maintain peer relationships.
- Workshops and seminars with faculty and campus partners to continue academic and career exploration.
- One-on-one mentoring to support and guide college preparation.
- College Readiness Learning Pathway curriculum that includes interactive discussions and projects designed to further develop key skills including critical thinking, communication, and self-reflection.
College Readiness Learning Pathway
The College Readiness Learning Pathway includes four modules:
- Invest in Yourself: Did you know that one of the most worthwhile investments you can make is an investment in yourself? Out of all the assets you might acquire over time, you as a person are the only one that you're guaranteed to have for your whole life. In this module, we’ll explore four categories of self investment: self-advocacy, self-esteem/self-confidence, self-motivation, and self-reflection.
- Critical Thinker: Critical thinking is a fundamental skill that transcends academic life and is used in everyday situations, enabling us to navigate complex problems, make informed choices, and engage constructively with others. In this module, you'll define and develop your critical thinking to enhance your academic performance and prepare you for college life.
- Give Back: Engaging with your community is an integral component of a fulfilling college experience. In this module, you will learn more about how to make a positive impact, build connections, and assess how best to give back to your community.
- Be Well: Transitioning to college life can be both exciting and challenging, presenting unique opportunities for personal growth as well as obstacles to maintaining wellness. In this module, you'll learn more about the various dimensions of wellness and how to develop habits that will help you thrive academically and personally.
Each module is divided into three sections: an overview with readings or video viewings; reflection discussion; and an individual project. Once you complete all of the tasks assigned to a particular module, you will be awarded a digital badge. These digital awards are a great way to compliment your resume and academic profile.
