Student Advisory Group Application

Thank you for you interest in serving as a member of our Arts & Sciences Pre-College Programs Student Advisory Group! The purpose of the Student Advisory Group is to provide feedback on the pre-college program experience, participate in the assessment process of program activities, and serve as an advocate for the pre-college community.

All pre-college students are welcome to apply. Up to 5 students will be selected to participate per program session. 

Responsibilities and Time Commitment

  • Meet weekly with program director to discuss program and share ideas.
  • Attend at least two community events each week and complete assessment form.
  • Attend at least one off-campus outing during the program and complete assessment form.
  • Assist as needed with program activities and promotion.

2026 Application Timeline

  • Applications open: March
  • Application deadline: Friday, May 15 at 5:00pm CT
  • Application notifications: Friday, May 29
Examples include sports, student council, part-time work, school clubs, yearbook staff, etc. Be sure to note any leadership positions for these activities (i.e. team captain, president, co-chair).
Please provide a 250-word essay addressing why you would like to be selected to serve on the A&S Pre-College Programs Student Advisory Group and what qualities and experiences you would bring to the group.
