Middle School Summer Challenge

A summer program for current 6th and 7th grade students (rising 7th and 8th grade students over the summer) from the St. Louis area. Our Middle School Summer Challenge program is designed to expand students' critical thinking skills in an exciting and innovative environment. Students participate in an arts and humanities themed course, leadership and team building activities, and a STEM course creating a well-rounded summer experience.

This program is ideal for students looking to build a strong academic foundation and engage with students from across the St. Louis area. This program is noncredit.

Students in Middle School Summer Challenge commute to campus. We provide a full daily schedule that includes classes and social activities. Students are supervised at all times by our dedicated program staff.

Build a Strong Academic Foundation

Middle School Summer Challenge courses are designed to expand on students' current knowledge and challenge them to explore further topics that interest them. Each course, taught by WashU affiliates, will focus on a specific set of skills. A student can participate in the program the summers after both 6th and 7th grade and experience new curriculum building on their previous summer.

I love meeting new people who share similar interests as myself. I also enjoy learning things that are not taught in my school.
